Summary0012770: Suggestion - make AOE damage based on LOS from target square
DescriptionInstead of the (template - non-destructible walls) algorithm.

This would make (IMHO) the explosions a little more realistic and since you show the AOE, it should be easy enough to understand.

When calculating LOS for AOE damage, I'd only include non-destructible walls -- the trash laying around should still go up :-)
