Summary | 0012894: Add ability to nickname Exos
Description | When doing a party of, say, 4 Sieges - each with a different item specialty... or they were, but - oh, did I have Virus on this one or Trap on this one? Is this my AoE guy or my range guy? Ok, I bought some items in the store - wait, which Exo is this now? Back to the City Block! The ability to nickname the Exos would be kinda nice, above sarcasm aside.

I was just thinking about this today as well. The Message Log does not differentiate between same exo types either, naming them would help. The default names could be Exo 1, Exo 2 etc for simplicity. |
I came to post that exact idea... not for as logical reasons, I just want to give my bots names like 'Bradley' I keep calling Bradley the wrong name, and that's just tragic. The last thing I need is for my Exos to forget their own name :P |
This might be obvious, but allow us to rename them after the initial exo selection in case we change our mind about what we want their names to be. I still think defaulting them to Exo 1, Exo 2 makes sense, then we don't mess with the game creation screen at all. (Alternately, the default exo names could be random from either a global pool or a type-specific pool -- moddable if possible.) Simply putting the exo's name in the bottom right corner over their portrait, beneath the exo type (see 0012880, though this idea supersedes it) makes sense. Hovering over the text (or even the entire portrait) would display a popup describing how you can rename the exo. Clicking it would allow renaming. |
For 1.011: * Each exo is now given a unique name (their type name, plus # 2, # 3, or # 4 if there's more than one of that type on the team) at the beginning of the game (or when loading an old save), and this name is shown in the left-sidebar tooltips for that exo and the damage log of who's doing what damage to who. ** You can change this name on the customization screen by clicking on the name and entering a new one. Thanks :) |
