Description | WOuld it be possible to add collapsible lists and/or icons to reduce clutter? Perhaps also using icons to show things like informants, buildings and armadas to help make the planet screen more informative and less messy. Example: Planet Name - Could be printed on the graphics in the top left corner. Owner - Could be printed next to the Planet Name. Event(s) - Could be shown as an icon as well. Planet + Moons Type (Possibility of multiple types on a single planet, or moons of various types?) Available Land Area Unusable Land Area Moons Colonized Uncolonized Population Current Maximum Civilians Soldiers + Soldier Power (potentially divide them into armies akin to armadas for more diverse revolts and internal wars) Children and Elderly (Might as well include the geriatrics if you want to have this much detail. Much potential for value adjustments here when considering longevity treatments and cloning of adults etc.) Births (Montly Min/Max to show that it is a fluctuating value) Deaths (Monthly Min/Max to show that it is a fluctuating value) Budget Military Armade Construction and refitting Building construction Land Improvement/Expansion Buildings (click to expand) Building 1 (nr of buildings) Building 2 (nr of buildings) Etc. Armadas (click to expand) Armada1 (numbers) Armada2 (numbers) Etc. Resources (It might go against the core design, but I think food and water and such might feel more relevant and interesting than what is currently available. Being able to dump a few megatons of food onto a starving planet could be a good relationship builder.) I had thought about this page today, sadly I do not play games like Civilisation etc, so I don't know how they handle it. I was going to suggest an entirely new pop up menu on this screen for the buildings, eg "show buildings" with 59 pixel (14.9683mm on 22inch @ 1920x1080) buttons detailing the types present on the planet. A similar screen for moons and bases, perhaps even resource income. The OP here also mentions icons, they could add to this screen. That said Keeping the artwork at the back intact somehow would imo be nice too. |

May I also suggest perhaps moving the armada lists to the LEFT side of the screen and on it's own. (Making it ALOT easier to see the list of defenders and attackers and drill into as necessary to see what's going on. |

Added a mock-up of the Planetary information screen demonstrating separating related elements and additional information. The most important elements are: 1. Current amount of X (e.g., You have a Medical RCI of 3) 2. Monthly trends (e.g., Your Medical RCI is increasing by +.02) 3. What factors are contributing to the monthly trend (e.g., Your Medical RCI is being impacted by Building +.02, Event - 5, etc) 4. Impact of current amount of X (e.g., A Medical RCI of 3 causes a 2% increase in growth, ....) 5. Proportion of X relative to the maximum (e.g., Your fleet is 25% complete, each month adds another 10%) |

I like that mock-up a lot. Something like that would make information far more accessible. |

Also love the mockup. While you're at it, can we add limit information to the screen? Like: "Ion Canon 1/5", or "Usable Land 1,000 km²/10,000km² (10% of max)" ASCII code (253) is the squared symbol, not 100% sure this is available in the chosen font for this screen, but it'd be alot better than using the caret symbol in the km^2 if it is available. |

Further Thought - could the appropriate current budget amount be placed next to the "Buildings Under Construction" heading and the "Fleets" heading (as duplicates for at a galnce ness). This may clutter it back up too much, so may not be a good idea, but it would be nice to just look at the "Buildings Under Construction" category and see how much the planet is working on it, while you're looking at the buildings being built. I'd say next to the "Usable Land" too, but that's already pretty cluttered. If you could find a non-cluttering way to do it, then I'd say it'd be a good addition. Cheers. ;) |

I requested changes to the planet details screen in another ticket (can't seem to find it now), so definitely this is something I think we need. I'd still like to see it more than just a wall of text, but something that show's both that statistics and pictorially the changes to the planet. Also the mock up text point size is a lot more readable than the current point size, any chance we could have this adjusted to a larger size as well? |

Thanks! * A huge number of improvements have been made to the advanced planetary details sidebar stuff. ** Things are better ordered. ** Things no longer run over from one line into the next. ** Everything is broken out into really sensible sections that start out collapsed and can be expanded and collapsed at will. ** Things actually have headers so that it's clear what each group of stuff is, whereas sometimes it previously was not. |
