| Description | i was testing iron-man a little (as i do love a good bit of permadeath tension in my games sometimes) and eventually died to a stupid piloting error, which i learnt from ;) but then when i got back to the main menu, eager to start a new game, i noticed that i could simply reload the iron-man save from that game and try again... which is not really that different from the normal settings, except that maybe to save i have to quit out to the menu each time i think i might try something risky... surely this is not intended..... would it not be logical to delete the iron-man save on player death? is that not what the mode is for... one shot, one life, no reloading after death? or am i confused? ;) | ||||

I don't think a save file should be create in Ironman mode. |

Well of course you need an end save in case you need to resume your game later? Also if the game crashes? However it should auto-overwrite on various events. Especially when dying.... |

Dying isn't permanent in ironman any more than it is in the main game, at this point. The permadeath thing is a separate option. If it's not saving at the time of permanent death, then that's an oversight. Basically the idea with ironman is that it does save, but it makes sure and does so everytime something bad happens, or something notable in general happens. If we missed any, it's a matter of plugging those holes. Thanks! |
