Description | Plants have a % chance of having a characteristic that can permanently modify RCI values. Planetary Bonuses have Tiers, with the rarest ones having more powerful effects. Your race will have to explore the planet to unlock them, and there is a new branch of Research called Planetary Exploration. In a game where the only way to get a new planet is to take it from someone else, I don't see how this really helps as a gameplay mechanism. At its absolute best it's a die roll for which species gets a big boost; in other words, it's kind of like how much available land the planet starts with, except this kind of information is hidden from the player. |
