Description | I find it a little tedious to hover over all of the options for pending federations. Add tickbox(or any toggle) filters at the bottom to highlight or add symbols next to any instances which you would be able to do if you had the credits. Even better, add the players current credits to the top and put next to every option in brackets "(Needs XX,XXX Credits)" - This way the current tooltips could be left undisturbed. Below the credits for each option could be a line showing how the relevant races feel about each other. Also, "this race has no planets" may not be a valid reason for being unable to join the federation. | ||||

Coming in 1.006: * A bunch of improvements have been made to the Federation Progress window, so that you can now see certain things that you are missing at a glance without having to mouseover (Credit, VP, Leverage, and Influence). It also shows the full description in the tooltip, and some cases where the influence amounts may have been showing wrong are now fixed. Please let me know if that doesn't handle something you were thinking of. Thanks! |

Checked out this change and I think your implementation is an excellent interpretation of the "lacking at a glance" details I was referring too, combined with the scroll bars fix this screen is now far more intuitive than before. What do you think of adding the current currencies (Credit, VP and Leverage) to this screen as well? I know credits are in the screen immediately prior but afaik the others are not available without moving planets(unpausing). In terms of "tidiness" it may be appropriate to leave current credits off this screen. I think the other two could look tidy in the nameplates immediately above the scroll bars (alligned right, or both starting from the same point could work)for the burlusts and peltians phrased as "Current Voting Proxies/Leverage:" - I am not sure what effect races having independent planets has on this though. Since relations with the player is constant I'd assume just using the planet closest/highest would be appropriate(and is what the current maths for this screen does). Given that the race relations screen is accessible without the passage of game time, In my opinion the tooltips on this screen cover rep quite adequately. Again my opinion, I like the break from the solar view these menus present and do not think that showing the buttons for the other screens is necessary at this time. (all of the below done through loading a 1.004 game; verifying later today) How does this handle multiple planets? I can see (single planet) that with a prime warlord with 100 LV and the subs with 800 each (total 1700) the victory screen maths behaviour is subtracting (from the available options) the single highest amount of leverage, thus for a deal requiring "5000" it states I need 4200 more, would it be fairer logic for it to state that I need 3300 more? Also I apologise for the phrasing of the original title, it's irked me ever since I posted it :/ |
