Summary | 0014818: I don't like that combat ends without my say-so
Description | I don't like how the combat immediately ends once the primary objective is completed, sometimes I'd like to stick around for a turn or two (for instance, to pick up pilots from the last mothership(s) destroyed) and that I don't even have the OPTION to stick around bothers me. Having a "End Battle" button that is disabled unitl primary objectives are completed would be my proposed solution. Clicking on it while "disabled" would toggle on/off the auto escape upon completion behavior (possibly indicated by highlighting it red or with an ant-trail border, etc). A setting in the main game settings that changes its "default" state would be nce also. (ie whether auto escape is on or off by default at the start of combat).

I like it, yeah you miss a couple pilot but that bam, zoom is pretty satisfying. |

Perhaps the "Withdraw" button could become "Victory" once the objectives are complete, allowing a victorious withdraw at any time upon objective completion (and also giving a clear indicator of said victorious state once achieved). The ant trail border around the withdraw button to indicate the "auto withdraw on victory" state would be nice, and this auto state could be toggled via right clicking the withdraw button. Once victory has been achieved, turning on auto victory should have you leave after the resolution of your current actions (ie after moving/firing weapons, but before the next waiting for commands phase began), and left clicking it should whisk you away immediately (even during the "giving orders" phase). |

Yeah, I'm not saying get rid of it entirely, for MOST battles that's the effect you want. All I'm suggesting is the OPTION to do otherwise. :) |

I think it's related to the fact you can damage the planet during the battle, by killing a structure. Whereas if you wait till the end, it takes the challenge out of it a bit. Perhaps make planet tied structures unkillable after the last enemy ship is destroyed? |
