Summary0001520: Core CPA Post launches CPA despite being dead?
DescriptionFound a Core CPA post, took it out before the countdown reached zero. We seem to have gotten a CPA at the 13 minute mark anyway, is this intended behavior? Is it possible it launched one the instant we entered the system, THEN started counting?

Edit: Per wyvern83's reply below, it's possible this was the CPA launched when the post first "saw" us. If that's intended behavior please disregard.

Edit 2: On further analysis I'm all but certain that's the case, so please close this.

Heh. At least there's stuff that penetrates 100k armor. Mk V Special Forces Rally posts have 200,000 armor. O_o

Actually we took it out easily, but may have found another issue, so I've repurposed this.

Once the countdown starts its generally too late to stop whatever it is from coming.

I find the timing of when it decided to start the countdown to be questionable though as you point out.

It'd make more sense for its destruction (and/or killing the system's command center)would trigger the CPA like it does with counter-attack wave guard posts. Did the tool-tip say anything about launching on sight?

Rereading the tool-tip you could actually interpret it as "launch on sight and then every thirteen minutes" instead of how I'd originally read it, which was "every thirteen minutes."

ah, thanks for getting back to me so soon.

I'd go with "launch on sight and then every thirteen minutes" being intentional as it sounds like what I seem to remember reading about it when they were coming up with it.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain this is just a product of me misreading the tool tip, wish I could close/delete it myself.
