Description | When attacking something under a spire shield guard post, ships sometimes won't move into the radar dampening range to fire, acting as if it got the fire order, but not doing anything. This seems more likely to happen if the unit under the guard post is also under a normal forcefield. | ||||

My recommendation is to just remove radar dampening from the spire shield gaurd post, as it seems to complicated to reason how forcefield mechanics and radar dampening mechanics should interact. Spire shield guard posts' anti-matter immunity should keep the worst abusers (Z bombards) from simply sniping from max range with little danger. Not sure plasma siege starships have enough range to make a similar thing a balance problem... |

A similar issue is that sometimes the spire shield guard posts' radar dampening isn't "applied" to units under the shield if there are other normal forcefields too. See http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php?topic=15764 |
