DescriptionSuggest champions, in simplified experience mode (xp from allied knoweldge) be altered to instead result in a passive gather effect.

Champions gain knowledge at a rate of 300/second on allied or neutral planets.

In addition, they gain ~ 5/second (from that planet) if fighting on a planet (one or more module is on cooldown) so long as it is in supply. If not in supply, 1/second.

With a 5/second rate, it would take 10 minutes of constant firing to drain a planet dry. 50 minutes on a no-supply planet. That seems reasonable enough.

This would make a champion player somewhat less dependent on other players to gain power.

Also, on killing a guard post, give ~ 50-100 knowledge instantly.

My version:
1: Whenever the AI loses control of a planet, all the normal XP is instantly extracted.
2: Spire Archives grant XP 5/s while controlled, to a limit of 6000 extra XP. As usual? I'm not quite sure how this works, because I'm pretty sure I'm always level 163 or higher by the time I get one of these things.
3: To get XP from AI-controlled planets, the Champ uses a hacking device dropped with a power. Presumably this could just be the existing K-hacking modules, and also grants the K to the Commanders, as well as XP to other Champions, but I've never actually done K-hacking, so I'm not sure how that works.

I was going to say "when a player gains control of a planet" for 0000001, but then I started looking at ways to have Champions harvest XP from neutral planets that wasn't tedious, and realized that once the AI command station is down, you've already pretty much paid the price of capturing the planet, so you might as well get the rewards.
