Summary0015692: Bionic Dues - Unable to play the game due to what appears to be a misalignment between the mouse pointer and the menus.
Description(This issue occurs in versions 1.007, 1.008, and 1.0016 of the game. I am using the GOG version in case this makes any difference.)

I am experiencing an issue where I cannot use the menu properly. For example, in order to update the game, I couldn't click the actual update button. Instead I had to scroll down with the mouse and mouseover several inches below the actual updater menu button in order to actually be able to press it. I was able to press this button due to the text box that opens up on mouseover.

I am using the Linux version of Bionic Dues. My system info is:

Linux Mint 17 KDE
4 GBs of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 560 Ti 1 GB of VRAM

The driver version I am using is nvidia-340.32 (this also occurs on nvidia-343.13 drivers but those are beta drivers so I kind of expected that.)

When I do manage to get into the game, I have the misalignment effect and what appears to be a display issue as half the screen is black save for the 3 icons representing the days left until the final battle, robot manufacturing, and credits.

This is all in full screen mode.

I have attached a screenshot of this misalignment effect. Please let me know if I need to provide more information and if there is anything I can do on my end.

Hi there, I have heard of some folks having some issues with fullscreen mode in unity games not lining up on some linux flavors and driver combinations. I can't duplicate the issue on Ubuntu, which is the only OS that Unity 3D officially supports (though I know a lot of people play on Mint, and it should be fine in general).

There are two workarounds, to my knowledge:

1. Set your screen resolution of the game to match your desktop resolution. Having a mismatch here apparently is what causes the issue, typically, for those who are affected.

2. Shift to windowed mode.

It's only been one or two other people who mentioned this, but that was all we could figure out last time.

Hope that helps!

Hi x4000,

I can't get to the graphics settings of the game to set the resolution or to disable full screen mode as there's no configuration utility outside the game.

If you go into the RuntimeData subfolder, there is a a settings.dat file that you can edit. If that isn't there yet, then you can use the one that I will upload in just a moment to be attached to this ticket.

Okay, the attached settings file disables fullscreen, but nothing else.

OK changing the resolution settings within my own settings.dat file solved this problem entirely. Thank you once again for your help and sorry for wasting time on what appeared to be a simple issue. Game works as expected now.

This issue can be closed :)
