DescriptionYeah, this has gotten to be a major issue; currently, I *have* to auto-resolve many fights, otherwise it's a tremendous waste of time, just because it takes a stupidly long time to kill even one thing. Early game ships having 700000+ shields is a bit silly... particularly when there's 30 of them. The thing about it is that it doesnt actually add to the difficulty whatsoever; I can keep dodging and defending indefinitely... it ONLY makes it take longer. The challenge level of battles on higher difficulties would still be pretty much where it is even with lowered shield levels (actual hull levels never seem bad; large disparity between them actually). Should be a fairly significant nerf actually, as they're seriously that high.

Granted, 30 of them is an extreme example (and I'm pretty sure is being caused by a bug right now)... but even just 6-7 of them can take ages to get rid of.

A better way to increase difficulty might be to instead do something with the squadrons they release. For example on lower difficulties they might put out, say, 4 predators at once. But on the higher ones, they might drop 6 at once. This would make for a significantly stronger enemy presence, yet without having to just increase shield levels or the time the fight takes. And perhaps have them have a few more of the "harder" squadron types than on lower difficulties. This would be much less time consuming, and also just make for a more interesting and enjoyable fight overall, and I dont think it'd need a particularly huge change to make this happen, since there's typically a whole bunch of flagships at once. You could even have it so that allied flagships DONT gain this ability, perhaps.
