MRS being unrepairable is a 'feature' that x4000 put in as a subtle nerf to mega-blob tactics as they were healing each other and thus healing the mega-blob for prolonged periods of combat before. The AI had no counter for this so x4000 made them unrepairable to force an interval between large battles where you either replaced them or allowed them to regen. This way they can still be awesome, and therefore useful, in the player's hands while not being overly imbalanced. If there has to be a tradeoff, and I agree that there must be, I'd rather it be this one rather than something else. Having said that, I've captured mostly dead MRS's before and wished I could repair them but unless they get a special tag for come back reclaimed at full health or something I don't know how you would change it and have it still be somewhat balanced. (having them come back at full could also backfire if the AI was doing the reclaiming so even that idea probably isn't worth it) |

It does have the tag for being immune to repair. |

I haven't seen anything that self-repairs and can be repaired by engineers. |
