Summary0016150: New Hacking Device: Warp Disruptor
DescriptionGoal: provide the players with an alternate way to deny AI to warp on a planet, more macro than the micro gateraid series.

This hacking device covertly connect itself in the AI warp grid and creates a phase modulation that increases in strength with time until it reaches the point where all adjacent warpgates are destroyed. The AI will notice the obvious perturbation and threaten the offending player.

This hacking device can be deployed on human planet. After the duration of the hack, all the warpgates in the planet where the device is and all the adjacent planets are destroyed. No AIP is induced but the HaP cost is multiplied by the number of destroyed warpgates (with a 1.5 multiplier for each or once for the bundle?). The hacking response come through all targeted warpgates (and is increased by the number of target, maybe not just multiplied): if the planet where the device is is an AI one, response fleet goes after it; else, it becomes threatfleet.

Possible tweaks:
- the warp relays and warpgate guardians are also destroyed by the hack.
- each destroyed warpgate costs its normal AIP but the HaP cost is very low (I'm not a big fan of this one because this way it wouldn't be very different from a gateraid series).

I'm definitely in favor of a hacking option for taking out warp gates. (I like the hacking mechanic in general.)

I could see restricting it to being only doable on an AI held planet, so you would have to choose whether you wanted to hack, gateraid conventionally, or ignore warpgates before you actually captured the planet. That would keep it consistent with how all the other hacks work.

This would be a pretty powerful hack, as it would make the very expensive Warp Jammer stations somewhat less useful for avoiding the AIP hit for gateraiding all surrounding planets -- I agree with the suggestion of having the AI send waves through the targeted gates. It makes sense thematically too -- they're about to fail, so it tries to get one last use out of them.
