Summary | 0016208: Evucks overreacting?
Description | I'm a little less clear what's going on here, since it appears to be diplomacy-related. I don't really know what category it belongs in, either. Anyway, allow me to set the scene a little: I'm 70-some turns into this first testing game. Don't have a clue what I'm doing, but that's not important. Anyway, I just found some Evucks near me, and my two-point linguistic starting bonus is with them, so I thought I'd say something to them and see what happened. I got a "There appears to be no reaction" message, thought nothing more of it, and moved on with my life for a bit. Unfortunately, it appears that I must have insulted their mothers somewhat, or equivalent, because the screenshot shows the point just 5 turns later. On each of those 5 turns they have infected me with a new disease, most of them infecting my whole population. More than 12% of my population died from them last turn. I have no idea how to deal with them. I strongly suspect, from the look of the game (though I haven't actually played any further yet) that my entire population is going to be wiped out by these diseases - and there's no end in sight. I'd be more than happy to believe that I have played atrociously, and that either I should never have done this in the first place or that I should be easily able to deal with this somehow. Even so, though, it definitely *feels* like an overreaction. I said one thing, and I'm going to be wiped out because of it? Whether or not that's what's really going on, I'd be worried about someone coming in cold to the game, not already *expecting* this kind of thing to happen to them a couple times, losing a game like this and having it put them off playing another game.

They do that. Even without interacting with them. Diseases are currently a bit too vigorous. |

For 0.809: * Fixed a bug where the evucks "charge time" to use their infection power was basically just one turn. Let us know if it's still too fast with the correct threshold. Thanks :) |
