Summary0016263: Assault transport retains damage boost after unloading troops
DescriptionDuring regular gameplay, I noticed my Assault Transports (which I will abbreviate as ATs in this bug report) were doing more damage than I was expecting in attacks. I started a brief game with cheats on to test, and observed that the ATs retain their full attack bonus even after unloading all contained units. This bonus persisted across trips through a wormhole, but is not kept when saving and reloading the game.

Per the text description in game, it's stated that the AT should only have extra attacks per 10 units it is carrying. However, testing shows that the actual number ranges from between 1 attack per volley (with 0 units inside) up to 30 attacks per volley (with 200 units inside). The value also does not scale incrementally on the 10 unit marker. As tested:

90 units = 13 attacks/volley
99 units = 15 attacks/volley
100 units = 16 attacks/volley

I'm really confused by this behavior, as it seems to make the AT a much more powerful unlock then I was expecting. I actually did a number of planet raids (easy AIs on difficulty 7) using only the ATs, and they were extremely powerful during the final AI homeworld assault.

Is all of this expected behavior for this unit? It doesn't feel like it should be.
