- If the currently used managed ram is above something like 400, then we should do a GC collect before updating the minimap. We should also queue minimap updates (if we are not already) to make sure that it doesn't bother updating the minimap more than once or twice a second. A tiny bit of lag there is no big deal, and might save a ton on performance when a lot is going on. |

One out-of-mem error log entries in that file reported that managed memory was 123,961,344; so how would the if-400MB-then-GC threshold help? |

Oops, sorry about that. I think that this is actually a downstream error from something else he was having at the time. If text in the spritefont stuff gets longer than about... I think it is basically 21,000 characters, then the game barfs because that's too many vertices. A string of text getting to be 21,000 characters long is a different error all on its own, usually a string of error messages that are getting recursively longer for some unknown reason. But then the thing that kills the game is the sprite text getting longer and trying to draw and failing. The out of memory error in this case may actually be related to the GPU, not the main system memory. And more specifically actually a buffer between the CPU and GPU. Anyway, let's mark this as closed for now, because the core issue is probably not this. |

Yep, you're all good for now. You can delete all your error files if you want, or leave them, it's up to you. Next time you run into an error in the game where it throws up that thing saying to send us error files, then please send us all of them from that directory if you will. Thanks! |
