Description | My game setup started okay, generated all the terrain and such, but when it switched to the game UI my lander never landed. I was able to save the game in that state and interact with it somewhat (moving the viewport across the map, bringing up the menu) but when I tried to quit to the main menu I got a black screen and an endless supply of exceptions in the logs. This actually seems to be two different issues: * I can reliably reproduce the "black screen instead of main menu" part by quitting before my lander lands. * I've been able to reproduce the "no lander" part a couple of times by starting a normal difficulty Skylaxian game on an island map and scrolling around clicking on other people's buildings during setup. A couple of tries with those same game parameters and no clicking on things got me to a normal game start, and so did a continent map game with a bunch of clicking on buildings. The cause might have something to do with not finding a place for me to land or maybe the game just doesn't like me playing with its incomplete state and is punishing me for it. |

Your lander is something you're supposed to see hovering, and you can click to place it. It wasn't doing that? The endless list of exceptions if you quit back out to the main menu is something we're aware of and do need to deal with. |

I can't seem to reproduce it at the moment, but as I recall I end up at the lander placement part of the setup without a lander to place or a landing site to place it in -- just a completely hidden map and the pre-game values in the HUD. |

Hmmm, okay. If that ever happens again, please save the game and let us take a look. It might have been a bad map seed, I'm not sure. |

For 0.814: * Changed mapgen to pick the player starting location first before seeding any other races. Hopefully this will avoid the situation where an islands map would sometimes have no valid player spot left and you'd get a nicely generate map with nothing explored and no way to put your lander down. A cute way for the game to say "GG", but wrong. Thanks :) |
