DescriptionMany players have been complained about needing to select terraforming and then demolish to activate demolish. It is not intuitive. Why not split it off from the terraforming and make it its own category of building that doesn't have a sublevel menu selection attached to it?

Well, on a 720px tall monitor it doesn't fit, is one main reason. My hope is that ultimately a hotkey would be the easiest thing. But who is doing that much demolishing?

The straightforward answer is to rescale the building icons for the smaller resolution. Which would also require rescaling the building menus. Which is a lot more work than it first sounded when I thought the answer was easy.

On the other hand there are at least 3 mentions on the forum of people being unable to bulldoze.

I've played enough that it doesn't matter to me, so I'm not a good barometer for this.

All right, that's all a lot of good points. I know enough as a developer by now to know that if I try to fight the beta players on this, it's only going to come back and bite me in the future with non-beta players en masse because the beta players were right. I can't logic my way out of usability problems. ;)

Maybe a different icon on the build menu would help? Something more recognisable as a bulldozer might solve the problem. I like the little vehicle that's on there currently, but its purpose isn't obvious in the way the health, food, sanitation, commerce, etc. (everything except the torch at the top, really) icons are.

Alternatively, maybe this is a job for a tooltip or tutorial. Once you know what that particular submenu is for, the icon makes more sense.

* The demolish action now has its own top-level button on the left sidebar, rather than being under the terraforming section.
