What OS are you on? Are there any error logs in your RuntimeData folder? Is this just when you are in-game, or also when you are on the main menu and do it? When you hit the M key to switch map sizes in-game, does that lag horribly also?

Am I asking enough questions? ;)

It seems to be better if I don't change graphics-related settings. Anything else seems to save in just 1 second. As for in-game or not, that seems to not make a difference. M to change the minimap size doesn't lag a bit.

Hmm, that's interesting. What sort of graphics settings do you mean? Screen resolution and refresh rate and fullscreen status? Those things would literally have to adjust your device mode with your GPU and monitor, and the speed there could be limited based on your hardware. If it's anything else I can't think why it would be slow. I guess unless you were adjusting the compression amount, but even that I don't think should do it. :/

Hmmm. What OS is this?

I'm on Linux (openSUSE), radeon OSS video driver, Mesa 10.5.6.
It's entirely possible that my hardware is to blame. I noticed the problem especially when switching between fullscreen and windowed. I've 4 GB of RAM in this box and was using High quality graphics setting, and just switching to Medium made things measurably faster.

Not noticing this happening after the new patch. Tried changing graphics settings in and out of game, and the changes were smooth, even in High quality mode.

Awesome! Things are way more efficient now in the graphics department, so I'm glad that happened to fix this also.
