DescriptionI have a couple of linguistic centers. I don't like assigning races to them one at a time. I know that linguistics is still being reworked, but thought I'd add a note just in case.

A couple? You have 10 Linguistics buildings in that old game ;)

I didn't think it was horrible starting from fresh. 2 will cap out a language fairly quick.

In addition, the graphic display looks bad when them so close together.
I'm also dreading what is going to happen once I start to mass produce them. In one of my earlier games, I had 100 linguistic labs. I cringe just thinking about that.

The game should not make it necessary to build that many - maybe the targetting could be made simpler.

Have you played with it yet? It is targeted (like resource buildings are).

And it isn't a race for points here. Just a healthy back and forth. I just didn't have an alternative solution to present since I like this better than the old way.

For 0.904:

* Language research centers no longer take a target race, but instead research the languages of all surviving AI races that you've met.
** The language progress from embassies and spy safehouses still goes just to their target race, since that's a secondary effect.

* Each language now has a multiplier on how fast it is researched.
** And actual linguistic-research-center progress per language per turn is multiplied by a random number from 0.95 to 1.05.

* The building details window for a language research center now includes a row for each language you can research, stating the level you have of each and how many turns until the next (or it's at max or if you need tech to progress).
** And each row has a tooltip giving more details.
