Summary0001721: Ship construction sometimes leaves them red.
DescriptionUnder some conditions (And I can't figure out what exactly) constructed structures like turrets, and sometimes ships themselves, have a red tint to them as they do when in low power mode, even though they are not in low power mode.

That would be your classic attack boost. Notice all of those yellow lines? I bet they all center on a munitions booster ship.

Well in that particular shot yes, but in most cases they'll do that even if the boosters aren't there. I've got turrets on other planets with no boosters in range doing that.

Military command station?

And if you're seeing them without any attack boosters, screenshot that instead.

Those are pink, not red -- it's the effect from the munitions booster. However, in 4.044 that's taken away, anyway, as it's unneeded and makes the spire ships look like bubble gum. ;)

It did make them look like bubble gum. It also made it hard to tell team ships apart sometimes.

Ah, yeah, in the other places there were attack boosters somewhere, even if it wasn't immediately obvious. But thanks for taking it away regardless, it was odd looking.

No worries. I'd recently added it (sometime shortly before 3.189) as a way for players to be able to tell ships were munitions-boosted when they had the lines turned off. But then with 4.0 the lines got way more efficient to draw, so that's even less of a concern. And there's always tooltips for telling the bonus if they really have to.
