Summary | 0017313: Turn 0: Select initial site bonus clarification
Description | No clear whether the when I select a landing site that the tool tip means I get the bonus if I land here or I only get a bonus if it is adjacent my landing site. Although turn 0, these type of things should be self evident, but looking at it I'm not sure. Whilst minor issue for repeated players this type of thing should help the new player learn the mechanics without pause.

The follow up to this is issue is that when landed it appears I've destroyed areas, but the tool tip tells me there's two different types of landscapes. Has that affected my positively or negatively? Looking at this later as the game progresses will this impact me in any way? I'm sure by turn 50 I've forgotten what is under my landing site, but I'm not sure whether this has any ramifications. Lastly if I land on place does the surrounding tiles having a bonus against there hex disappear. Not clear. |

Actually, neither AFAIK. I can't check here, but from memory, I think you can land only on plains, snow and similar "flat" lands, which give no bonus, and rocky ground, which gives a bonus to mining, and resources (which are on above mentionned terrain types). You can't land on mountains nor forests nor jungles. Your lander does no mining, and resources are not usable without a specific extractor tech and building (which the lander does not provide). There's a mantis about the resource part already. Only mines mine and use the mining bonus, again, from memory. I agree it needs some kind of clarification. |

For 0.909: * The tooltip on most tiles during lander placement is now different, showing info about that territory and the Act 1 objective associated with it. * Attempting to place the lander now shows a special confirmation window with info on the territory you're about to choose, the other territories you could choose, and the ability to name your starting territory (this replaces the separate prompt to name the lander territory, since that conflicts with other stuff now). Thanks :) |
