Summary | 0017338: Betryal Game inpossible to win because of Andors being literally impossible to kill
Description | I've spent hours attacking the same world (last one left) with orbital bombardment and every fleet (max research) I can build all attacking at 100%. And the population never budges for more than a second if at all. I have every RCI on the place in the -1000s except for economy which for some reason I can't affect at all. I have 10ks of ships attacking it 24/7 and every time they hit 300 defenders they suddenly spike back up. They've climbed from 300m population to 2.8b in a second once and otherwise never budges and they are impossible to kill and its incredibly frustrating! Please find out what's wrong and fix this so that no one ever has to go through this again. Thanks!

Was able to finally win on this save by going at the second slowest speed and manually killing every fleet the second it appeared. Consequently, I'm not sure if this is a bug or if its just a bad combination of modifiers at this point. |
|
It's more of a gameplay balance issue and definitely still real in 3.001. Very frustrating to deal with. |

Andors are immune to negative economy changes (similar to Thoraxians being immune to negative (and positive) public order changes. I'm trying to think of what modifiers could be stacking up that would make them so hard to kill. *Looks at the save* Hmmm. I think its a combination of the Ark and the Andor Assembly Lines. For some reason there are six of them on the planet but the tooltip fluff says that it should be "one per planet" but also says that the max per planet is 7. Each one triples the "birth" rate (which stacks) for a total multiplier of 729, then multiply by 7 for the Ark. Edit: one per federation planet. Which, I guess, in Betrayal mode is one per hydral planet. And they can't be sabotaged. |
|
For 3.003: * The Andor Assembly Line buildings (which Andors build when they're scared of the federation) are now vulnerable to sabotage and orbital bombardment, as otherwise a big stack of 6 or 7 of these (especially if the Andor planet is seeded with The Ark) could render the Andors completely invincible because it leads to "birth" rates of over 7 billion per month (700 million with x0.1 from terribad medical rating). ** Also moved the check for scared-of-federation buildings to later in the per-month logic check, so they don't impact the birth rate of the month in which they are constructed, as otherwise destroying them doesn't actually stop the massive manufacturing spree. Thanks :) |

Patchnotes seem to say someone named Blackwidower reported and proved the save, but whatever. What matters is that you've saved someone else from going through this in the future. Thanks! |
