Summary | 0017419: Rework overlays: Moving overlays from the bottom overlay menu to be part of the top menu
Description | When looking at the various overlays it is useful information, it seems like there is room to move these overlays away from the separate menu, and have them be activated by clicking the corresponding icon at the top menu. Effect: This would move a lot of the information functionality to a single area of the screen. The current overlay system and reports system is simply clunky. Example 1: Clicking the Pollution icon switches between the various pollution overlays. Example 2: Clicking the Crime icon switches between the various crime overlays. Alternative: Rework the overlays to be less clunky to work with. Most of the overlays can be combined or simply integrated into a general overlays. States such as disabled buildings, resources, wonders and last sonar surveyed could really do with not being a separate toggle. Suggestion for visuals: Separating the icons at the top by placing them in greyish boxes with darker lines for separation, and then have the activated icon (for overlay) presented as a clear light grey. It could even be possible to have several overlays active at the same time.
