Summary0017523: Commercial Offices worse than small shops
DescriptionThey require more people, power, police protection, and computing power than small shops, and produce fewer crowns, more pollution, and more trash, while having fewer hitpoints. There doesn't seem to be any reason to ever build one.

If we don't see the full width and height of the economy on the later acts we can't really judge.

Those buildings might be getting huge upgrades later on so hold your hosres!

Also Commercial Offices are one of the best Act 1 employers at 80 for 15 power. Jobs are important!

Cinth, I haven't noticed unemployment effects yet with a 5-6k surplus workforce. Does that change for bigger numbers?

In v1 & v2 unemployment was a big deal. I don't think it exists in Act 1 in v3. It might have been removed completely.

What ptarth said. I don't think we've seen the last of unemployment effects though.

* The following changes have been made to small shops versus commercial offices:
** Small ships:
*** HP 400 to 220.
*** Militia attack power down to 4 from 8.
*** EXP per turn from 20 to 5.
** Commercial offices:
*** HP 220 to 400.
*** Crowns per turn from 300 to 800.
*** Construction cost from 4800 to 7000.
*** EXP per turn from 15 to 10.
*** Pollution from 10 to 7.
*** Crime protection need from 150 to 35.
*** Now produces 1 science per turn.
