Summary0018210: Loot for damage room able to be trivialized
DescriptionThe room with a set of destroyable blocks preventing hiding a loot canister with a laser pointing at the loot canister (see attached screen shot) seems able to be trivialized.

I'm assuming that the point of this room is to consume 1 missile and also make the player take 0000001:0000001 damage acquiring the loot canister. However, the loot can be acquired with only the expenditure of 1 missile and taking no damage by:
1) blowing up the bricks
2) run over loot square
3) run back and to door
---- only 2 shield damage taken so far.
4) leave room and re-enter to recharge shields
5) run in for loot and leave, only taking more shield damage.

I was thinking the same thing today. In fact, it's even worse than that. Most of the small hazards room can be trivialized just by going out when you take two damages and come back again. I even cross a room at floor 1 with only some mines. I just took 1 damages, grabed the loot, and i was out and full life. That kind of rooms are just free loot now.

I think a solution may be to only regen shield when you kill the last monster of a room. Environmental damages will then become something, even taking a single shield damages on a mine will make you start the next fight with one less shield.

I made that! Name of that particular room is END_MissileCostLootChest, the possible health cost is just extra if you feel the need to blow up all of the 3 bombable blocks and also hopefully make you realize that you can only blow up 2 of the blocks.
But yeah shield regen does make things a little weird in some cases.

I figured that was possible, but when I realized it could be done without taking any damage figured it was somewhat pointless to keep trying figure where to place the missile to do so.

I also believe that with the reintroduction of destructible lasers, you can just missile the laser and be done with it.
