Summary | 0018383: Chainned Alien Egg Explosions drop framerate | ||||
Description | When there are several alien eggs chained together, when they explode I get hit with a fairly large framerate drop. It doesn't occur with the flames, just the explosion. If the rooms with large numbers of chained eggs were spaced out a little bit more, you could still have your chain reaction and not have as many framerate issues. Alternatively, see if the explosion graphic can be made less resource intensive. Yes. I do run the game on a potato. | ||||

For 0.901: * Substantially improved the performance of blowing up a whole pile of alien eggs at once. Thanks :) It's not the graphics that are expensive, really. They slow down the framerate but it's the cpu cost of seeing what's hit in the kerfluffle that slogs it. I cut out a lot of that pain in this change, we'll see if more is needed post-1.0. |
