Summary0018426: Linux Feedback & Problem
DescriptionYou asked for Linux feedback. My secondary desktop running Linux Mint 17.2 ran into a problem. It has a Nvidia 660 GTX and a dual core CPU. For whatever reason, when I click to load a save game, the game stops accepting my mouse clicks. On the screen as attached. Keyboard *seems* to be fine but my mouse no longer functions correctly and it just freaks out. I'm honestly not sure what the problem is. I've attached a screenshot that shows what's happening when I get to the screen with what looks like two mice pointers at the same time. It's entirely possibly that it's a problem with my desktop.

Running Starward on my 6+ year old Linux mint laptop didn't have any issues that I could detect. (It has an integrated graphics card and a i5 processor) It runs pretty well on it too considering how old the laptop is.

Do you have a gamepad installed on the Mint one? It looks like it has shifted into gamepad mode, although a poor one.

So I had another mouse (one of those ball ones) plugged in and I unplugged it. I tried a few things and it seems unplugging the current regular mouse from the USB port and plugging it back in gets it to work.

BUT: that's only temporary. Restart the game and the problem is back. I'm beginning to think this is a computer issue...

Gotcha -- sounds like that is what it is, yeah. Two mice fighting for cursor position. Yick.

Yea, let's just assume it's a problem on my end. I don't care about that machine running this game anyway but at least we know it boots up on that machine! =)
