Summary | 0019055: Have all mechs start with 1 key
Description | Most of the time, there will be no keys on floor 1. This means that players are often forced to kill the el-cheapo shopkeeper for incredibilities. That's not necessarily a good choice and it constrains many playthroughs. If we give all mechs one starting key, then they can access the other shops, e.g. the weapons and defense shops, and kill the shopkeeper there. It'll make the choices more interesting and won't affect the long-term outcome since players will always have lots of keys by floor 4 or so.

Hmmmm, I don't really mind sometimes not finding any keys on floor 1. It just adds to the RNG, I think. Although, I hardly ever kill shopkeepers, though. Any other thoughts on this guys? |

If I may add my input on this: One thing to consider with incredibilities is that the game wasn't balanced with them in mind. I don't think changing that would be a positive move. In this case, giving free access to a locked shop from the start would give the Humble mech a serious advantage on other mechs, since he already has the means to buy stuff from the get-go as opposed to the others that depend entirely on what they can found. Long story short, I don't think affecting the early balance for the sake of incredibilities is a good idea. |
