Description | Notes from Keith and myself: > It would be kinda helpful for me to know how big to make these things slightly more directly, so that I can make an underlying "plate" in space and then size the effect I'm doing based on that. That's what I was doing before, but I think you changed some unrelated things that then changed the effective plate size, and now I don't know what the plate size is truly supposed to be. Here are all the "reference" distances, the only absolute distances left in the xml: distance_scale_gravwell_radius="10000" distance_scale_unit_radius="75" distance_scale_shield_radius="575" distance_scale_weapon_range="1250" distance_scale_aoe_radius="500" distance_scale_ship_speed="167" distance_scale_shot_speed="3334" distance_scale_beam_endpoint_separation="70" All other distance numbers in the xml are defined as a multiplier of one of those numbers. So a normal blast radius is about 40% of a short-range weapon's range, or about 5% of the gravwell radius. Most aoe weapons have area_of_effect_size_scale="1", which means just the straight 500. Lightning warheads have 2. Mines have 0.1, though that may be hopelessly small. | ||||
