DescriptionWhat do you think about make battle formation? I think its can be interesting like minimum.
Why we need it? Its beautiful
Can it change the game balance? I think no. If you want ideal kite, its when you have one type of ships and clickes in one place very fast for making mutastack in one pixel, and then attacks from all weapons in one moment, becouse all of your ships have one attack range, you will carry game a little more effective, than my suggest, whitch will nerf it(kite) anyway. So, i m not think, that battle formation can get you more overpower options for abuse.

Suggestion:
1) Right now, when you orders your ships to moving on other planet in Wormhole, they making auto formation, like on screenshot 1.
I suggest make auto formation, when you going to other planet, like on screenshot 2. Than more army, then more rows.
2) Right now, when your ships exite from the Wormhole, they making auto chaos battle formation. Its look ok. Screenshot 3. But if you order your army to move, you can see, like army trying make "stuck formation" and trying get position in one pixel, like on screenshot 1 or something.

So, i suggest move with first chaos battle formation after Wormhole, like on Screenshot 8. Every ship a little splited, so its seems fine.
Or your army can make battle formation for moving, like on screenshot 4, 5. Its total war and cassacs formations, looks beatiful(for me), like and chaos battle formation. Than more army, then more rows.
Or your army can make other type of chaos battle formation, like on screenshot 6.
On the last 3 screenshots, army rotated to the enemy ships, for more effective battle.
You can rotate your army like in total war game, just hold RMB buttom and choose side for rotate, else ships themselves can create a battle formation, depending on the direction in which they move.

Same logic can using AI.

We have some capabilities along those lines already, but in general that sort of thing gets CPU-expensive and potentially sub-optimal in actual combat style. It's something we may look into using more in the future.
