Summary0002104: Armored Warhead has too weak damage for AIP cost
DescriptionWith the recent changes to lightning warheads (0001883), the Armored Warheads have now been left laughably weak compared to their AIP cost. They should be brought up to Lightning Warhead levels of damage, considering even the weakest costs 10 AIP, equivelant to 10 Mark I Lightnings, or 5 Mark IIs.

Their health seem to be just fine.

I think the absurd health of the armored warheads is their power. It basically allows you to "deep strike" warheads.
However, considering how weak they are in comparison to lightning warheads, and the fact that deep striking with warheads is of limited use, yea the AIP cost is too high.
But I think they are supposed to be less damaging than a lightning warhead, because you are getting massive HP in return.

Well, yeah you get a lot of health, but I thought that was what you paid for with the gigantic AIP cost. Instead you get a bunch of health AND about 1/4 of the damage :/

The low damage essentially forces you to use multiple warheads to get the expected result which leads to incredible AIP cost.

Plus how many things are really worth taking that AIP AND go down easily enough that you can kill them with warheads while being too difficult for regular units to raid?

Does their damage scale with ship cap setting? It doesn't look like it. They probably should even if the cap count itself doesn't. Regular lightning warheads too. Otherwise, their power:AIP cost gets way way worse in lower caps vs higher caps due to everything else having 2x/4x health and thus requiring 2x/4x as many warheads and thus 2x/4x as much AIP cost for the same effectiveness as high ship caps.

Yes, it's just general attack power, so it scales with the ship cap.

It looks like it might be in one of those exempt categories due to low unit cap is what I meant. I have a low cap reference up in game and a debug export from last version in high or normal cap and they have the same damage.
