Summary0002132: Fortresses and Transport ships
DescriptionWoa nelly. Although fortresses should be feared, this seems a bit much. According to the reference tabs, it takes 28 hits from a Mk. I fortress to kill a transport ship. However, IIRC, the listed damages and hits use the damage from one bullet, not an entire salvo per shot. Since Mk. I fortresses fire 30 bullets per shot, this basically means that a fortress can one shot a transport ship. In fact, this happened to me just now. Things only get worse with the higher Mk. versions.

Was this intentional? It certainly makes deep striking through a planet with a fortress much more difficult.

The reference tab gives numbers on both shots to kill and seconds to kill. The seconds to kill number includes consideration for the size and frequency of the salvo. What does it say under seconds?

Hmm, maybe I didn't recall correctly.
It says 5.6 seconds, however, even that seems to be a little too fast.

Maybe give them .1 damage multiplier vs scout, which is the armor type for transports as well.

I'd rather not see them generally nerfed to become something that I ignore for last when I see them on a planet again.

Perfect. That was done for many of the guardians, and that seems to work pretty well.

* Fortresses and superfortresses now only do 10% damage to scout hulls (which includes transports).

Even with the 10% damage multiplier, there are balance issues.
