Summary0021327: Consider having a new... "damage ceiling" mechanic of some sort.
DescriptionPotentially it would be interesting to have a mechanic that says something like "max damage from any one source to me is 1000, or 5% of the damage incoming, whichever is higher." Where 1000 is actually just n in that case.

What this would do is make it so that these targets are essentially very hardened against "big single enemies," but would require swarms of smaller ones to kill them.

There was an incarnation of something like this: Revision 4756.

It had some oddities so it wasn't used in the end.

Notes:

"Maybe also a "weakened" variant that makes all damage below X rise to X?

Maybe also a "normalized" variant that makes any damage dealt simply change to X?"
