| Description | There are now more network interfaces on each computer than there used to be. Basically most machines now have a wireless interface and a wired one by default, whereas that was a more rare thing back in the day. Actually I suddenly feel old, thinking about this. But at any rate, "what is my local IP address" now even is a bit more complicated, because instead there's a whole list of adapters, some of them virtual, and in various connected and not-connected states (I am on wifi, I'm not plugged in wired, or I'm plugged in via both, etc). So we would need to get a list of the local network adapters, filter out any that are not connected, and then show the remainder to the local player. This is a pain, maybe, but probably there is easy code elsewhere on the net where people have already done this. And it will save a lot of tech support and headaches for players. I'm mainly concerned about these raising OS security alerts that cause blockages, but we'll see. | ||||
