Not a bug, I did that on purpose. These are single target Mines, not meant to kill multiple units in a blast - that's the Area Mine. |

They are strictly worse than area mines then. Normal waves never have guardians unless you are facing a Royal AI, and they're extremely likely to just explode on a random raider, raptor, or stingray moving on through. |

Macrophage ambush, Astro Train ambush, around a wormhole Marauder Raiders enter, blowing up the big Dyson ships, AI homeworld assault with the Dire Guardians, AI Frigates, the Instigator Guardian spawns, Dark Spire bigger ships, Golemite Golems, planet the AI just reconquested (it spawns Guardians during this), potentially higher mark low cap Strikecraft, Nanocaust bigger ships and their decode hack, etc.
Sure, bit more niche, but that seems fine to me. They've always had that downside. |

Mines need more careful placement than the other mines for this reason, but I have found it's pretty effective to hide these behind tractor beams and paralysis mines, which tend to stop most strike craft but not guardians
I've been seeing Hunter *a lot* more on my own planets, and these tend to bring many guardians, so I've been getting some value from my mines if not nearly as much as the other two |
