Summary | 0022293: Abnormal AIP-Mark increases
Description | It's a long-standing problem that I noticed but never paid attention that much till trying some multiple AIs games with double Nanocaust. Often, without an AIP-mark threshold being reached, the AI-mark will go up. This is very common for the first Mark increase, where you end up with AI Mark at level 2 despite the threshold still indicating 220-something. Then when you get to the first threshold the AI Mark goes up to level 3. This can happens multiple times during a game, which is how I ended up with Mark IV despite having the next AIP-Mark threshold at 340. It's my understanding that, at the very least, the AIP-threshold should raise when the AI mark increase. That isn't the case. I didn't address this because I believe that some others reasons cause the AI mark to increase, Civil War between AI or fighting the Nanocaust. My thinking was that they had their own AIP and increased the general AIP mark when there got to those threshold. Even so the AIP-for next Mark should still increase when AI Mark goes up. At the minimum, the AIP-history log should tell the player when the AI-mark went up and why.

Got any save games that would help debug this? |
|
For Difficulty 7: aip_for_mark_1="0" aip_for_mark_2="100" aip_for_mark_3="220" aip_for_mark_4="340" aip_for_mark_5="460" aip_for_mark_6="580" aip_for_mark_7="700" I'm not sure what the problem is. The values you state line up as expected. If the AI is Mark level 2, then the threshold for MK3 will be 220, which appears to be what you are reporting. It always reports the threshold for the next Mark. Far as I can tell this is working normally. Tried it in game and nothing odd. Maybe I've misunderstood? |

Here's an image of it shown ingame for that example. |

As far as I can tell, there's no actual bug here? If you still think there is a problem then a save game and more details are required. |
