| Description | The fleet icons on the galaxy map show two things: The hotkey (useful to identify the fleet) and an approximated number of loaded units. The latter isn't terribly useful. You can see whether the flagship has something loaded but the number is too inaccurate (usually just shows x80+) to tell whether it's fully loaded or how much of the fleet's strength that is. IMO some of the following would be more useful: - Fleet health percentage (like in the fleet tab) - Indicate whether the flagship is crippled - A "fully loaded" icon (when the fleet is in transport mode and all extant ships of the fleet are inside the flagship) to tell when it's ready to move - Fleet ship counts (like in the fleet tab) - Current fleet strength (the planetary total is not so useful when multiple fleets are on one planet) That would allow spotting which fleets are combat ready, which ones are ready to transport and how fleets in combat are doing. Basically give you a quicker overview of how the war is going and what repositioning them would do. | ||||

The "fully loaded" thing is a good idea, and in fact the code for something very similar (showing the % of a flagship's units that is loaded) is almost entirely done. The only problem was I couldn't figure out how to make a % appear in the UI. See 0022058 |
