Summary0022556: Deep strike distance counted from nearest human command station, not nearest cleared planet
DescriptionLost my Logistics Command Station on Ashburne a couple seconds after loading this save. Immediately got a notification that the AI was responding to my deep striking on Melbourne. Would have had to run back two systems to not be deep striking.

In AIWC, you only had to clear a planet to extend your safe deepstrike distance; you didn't have to hold the planet, presumably to avoid exactly this situation.

Possibly this is an intended change; the AIWC behavior was not particularly intuitive but it was awesome if you understood it properly.

A possible alternative would be for combat support fleets to stop working when more than three hops from a friendly command station. That would be another layer of deepstrike discouragement, without being as punitive in this particular situation.

I kinda like the fact that the AI can force you to retreat by destroying your most exposed command stations

I kind of was thinking the same thing. It's actually a little odd that deep strike in AIWC worked like it did, speaking logically. I dunno, this seems accidental but I am inclined to like it. Having to retreat sometimes is a nice dynamic thing.
