Description | Building turrets on an enemy planet is now very difficult due to the AI putting an extreme priority on destroying those before they get built. That in itself is fine and smart behavior. However the shielded battlestation offers a unique advantage in that it can protect the turrets while they get built. This however is ruined by the exaggerated decollision sending the battlestation very far away for only a small overlap - which is easy to cause in the heat of the action. The turrets end up unprotected and pretty much instantly reduced to rubble which are blocked from rebuilding due to enemy presence. In the joined save the enemy units that would complicate the situation have all been killed but I've reproed the situation. STEPS: - Enter planet Tertius - Look at battlestation next to turrets on the left edge and unpause - Observe the battlestation decollisioning by a large amount and leaving some turrets unprotected - Repeat a few times to observe the variance of decollision amounts. Sometimes more turrets are left vulnerable than others. Expectation: the battle station only adjusts its position slightly to get clear of the turret. Bubble-shield-providing units could also be allowed to overlap more with other, or could have the decollision behavior completely turned off. Please note that this is only one manifestation of a larger problem. Overall it's nigh-impossible to get a bubble-shield unit to protect anything, stationary or not, because of this exaggerated decollision behavior. | ||||
