Description | I had posted about this on the discord, but for what are I'm certain very understandable reasons I haven't seen StarKelp around. There was a discussion there as well and a consensus behind the need for a chance. The issue is that each Enclave has a bonus as high as 16% for mk 7 ones. These stack multiplicatively without cap. That means get 20 or so on a planet which can absolutely happen and you'll end up with virtually teleporting ships that just delete enemies at an absurd rate. Unfortunately the current bonuses are multiplicative in nature and as such are bound to break spectacularly no matter how you arrange it once several are in the same place. Even more so if a player adds more than one custodian faction. The speed bonus per Enclave should be flat and not scale with marks at all. Stuff will be plenty fast as is given something like a 50 speed bonus per Kindness Enclave. That would be 1000 bonus speed for everything at 20 of them being around compared to the current stupidity that is over 19k speed at 20 Kindness Class being present right now. Even bigger deal is the multiplicative damage bonus stacking with other multiplicative damage bonuses. Why couldn't you just give the Kindness Enclaves an Acid weapon that increases everyone's damage against impacted targets by around 100 per shot before multipliers? It would be there, it definitely has an impact that could be noticed... and most importantly it doesn't fly off the rails by handing a faction a potential damage ramp of over fifteen times damage in a large group. That then gets handed off to allies as well. |

The bonuses on the Kindness enclaves have been reduced to 1.1x damage and a flat +140 speed at mark 7. Additionally, when there are multiple damage bonuses, they now stack additively (so 2 would be 1.2x and 20 would be 3x) instead of multiplicatively (where 2 would be 1.21x and 20 would be 6.72x). |
