Description | Ongoing multiplayer sync issues. Desyncing errors after 15 minutes. Issues such as resource inaccuracy or Outguards not appearing/updating in UI are immediate from the moment of game load. Have verified game files on host and client before the game (posted) was played. Post from Steam Discussion board below: Hi all, looking for a hand with some network/sync issues my brother have been having since we got the game recently. We're playing on LAN, and we both installed the game and all DLC fresh, without mods, on Windows 11. What we notice is resources saying that they're max when they should be dropping (they are, for the host). Calling in Outguard just straight up doesn't refresh/reload, so it doesn't work. Sometimes there are invisible ships, when they look very visible for the host. We also seem to get errors popping up throughout the game (both host and client) related to different things (something to do with the colour of lanes between AI worlds was one of them, of all things). Occasionally we'll even get a crash. We have found one remedy, but it's really not great. By forcing manual syncing every minute or two (which is really jarring because it flicks you back to the zoomed-in system view), most things will get back in alignment. We still get crashes every 30 mins or so though. Boosting the frequency is rolling sync in the advanced options didn't seem to change anything for us. So, just wondering if we've missed something. We tried all of the different connection types. He hosts. I host. Same deal either way. Any ideas for things to try, or info I could share that might help to figure out what's going on would be wonderful. Thanks for reading, would be awesome to be able to play this without having to flip a coin on who gets to deal with sync issues. :) | ||||

* Multiplayer: added in a new protection mode that prevents clients from experiencing a bunch of errors during the a full sync from the host. ** Previously there were quite a few errors that would happen in these cases, most of them harmless, but some of them able to cause crashes. Now those errors no longer happen. ** Thanks to Jaydak for reporting, and to Dismiss for diagnosing the specific issue. * Multiplayer: hardened a variety of methods against exceptions that could happen on clients in particular. Although, some of these things could have happened to hosts or outside of multiplayer as well. ** Thanks to Jaydak for the log with the reports, and to Dismiss for some of the hardening. |
