| Description | If you generate enough aggro with combat units, you can get the security cruiser to shoot them instead of the technician (or presumably whomever else you have doing the investigation). This lets you succeed on the investigation first time, without the intended flow of failing, researching AP rounds, and winning the second time. (This isn't a blocker, it still gives you all the appropriate things to research or unlock after you do get the water tech. However, the cruiser sticks around and will inevitably come shoot any androids marked defective, often hitting your buildings with AoE and uncovering all your stealthed buildings, which makes it annoying to deal with as you probably don't have armour piercing rounds yet given the tech for developing them was only unlocked a turn or two ago and you'll need to go steal some tungsten and also build a storage for it.) | ||||

To me, this seems like a consequence of being skillful enough with manipulating aggro that you bypass the intended flow. (Consequence as you then have to deal with the cruiser later). Not sure this is something novice players will run into as much as it's something skilled players can do to themselves. |

Thanks! * Fixed a bug where "action-over-time hunters" like the secforce cruiser could be distracted from targeting units like your investigators, even without the hackamajig. ** This is something that only applies to a small subset of enemy unit stances, but basically it made the water fight not go as-intended on the first try for people, and could lead to really wrong expectations about enemy reprisals because of it. |
