Summary | 0028922: Delay the ability to preform leap attacks in the prologue.
Description | There's a decent chance that, because of the forced attack, that a leap attack will be the opening for the combat. If this happens the toast for leap attacks gets thrown at you with 8 other toasts. I don't think that leap attacks are important that they absolutely need to be taught in the intro fight but you might disagree with that, though they absolutely shouldn't be available for the opening attack. I have 2 suggestions here: A- turn off leap attacks for the intro fight to reduce the information thrown at the player here. or B- turn off leap attacks for the opening attack so that it doesn't overwhelm the player with the other 8 toasts. In case you're worried about player tunnel vision relating to the second suggestion, I'd like to point out that the leap attack is very unorthodox and likely very far from what the player expects to happen the first time they do it. They will definitely be asking what just happened.

Thanks! * A lot of the toast that was stacking up in the first fight and forcing you to read it -- including about cover, and melee leaps, and enemies coming in and out in waves -- now just goes into the handbook in a mid-visibility way. ** This is a lot less overwhelming for players, while still giving them all the functionality. ** Melee leaps are required functionally, as it can be a softlock situation without them. But having to read about them is not all that important. |
