Summary0028962: Clarification on Squads
DescriptionAs of right now there's really no in-game explanation of what squads are, what they do, how they matter. You can figure it out mostly through play, but some in-game explanations would be nice, especially covering how:
a.) multiple units in a squad are treated as a single unit.
b.) Squad size acts as a multiplier to certain stats (but not others!).
c.) Reducing squad health shrinks squad size, leading to lower damage output.

These two things should probably be introduced to the player as early as the first fight with investigators and secforce backup, because they really confused me on my first playthrough. At first, I didn't even know that a "squad" only referred to one token on the map. I remember looking at one secforce investigator, it being a squad of 3 or something, then seeing two others and saying "oh, so those three are the squad, right?" but then mousing over the next investigator to see it was a squad of 8. So I was worried that attacking that one investigator would aggro seven more somewhere offscreen. (The way that enemies just seem to spawn in did NOT help with that confusion).

Later in the game on the note of squads, it didn't appear to show how big your squads of bulk units would be, which led to a confusing power disparity. One combat unit is a lot stronger than one PMC bot, so why is a bulk combat unit weaker than a bulk PMC? Because PMCs come in a squad of 5, combats only a squad of 3. So somewhere in the bulk unit menu show the squad size that will be created.
