Summary | 0002949: Better notification of Rebel Colony appearing on the map
Description | Could we have something more noticeable when a rebel colony is spawned than simply the blue coloured text in the notifications list with the timer ticking down? The flare helps find the system in the map but it still feels like a damp squib of an announcement. There's no actual message in the message log to say anything about the Human Colony rebelling against their evil AI overlords nor does the journal have any entry for what is a pretty big event (+100 AIP if you ignore it/can't defend them adequately). If some "flavour" was required perhaps some sort of communications message from the leader of the Human Colony to your own home system settlement indicating their imminent casting off of the tyrannical machine oppressors would do? Just something so it doesn't seem like you learn of Rebel Colonies through osmosis would be nice (I didn't even have a scout in the system when the timer appeared so how I knew they were even rebelling & how long their cloak has left is beyond me).

I agree, it would be more flavorful (and better, in my opinion) if each minor faction had a journal entry. I feel as if the journal section is underused except for the fallen spire campaign. But even then, the rebel colonies are relatively easy to locate. However, It would be more noticeable if the symbol were different from that of the mining golem. This gets a tad frustrating when both happen at the same time. |
