Description | Good news and bad news: Good news: minor faction ships are now patrolling neutral planets. Bad news: I have yet to see them help in an attack, or clear out threat. I'll post a savegame when I can get a good example of this behavior. EDIT: posted a savegame. I have a force of 300 ships (including an armored golem) attacking Buke. A few moments ago, the AI eye had been spewing out zombies, until my forces were reduced. This means that Buke had a fairly large force attacking it AND large amounts of threat, but the dyson spawn patrolling through Thoyae didn't react at all. | ||||

I've noticed this too. A workaround for now is, if you are planning on taking the system, just blow the command center and then Dyson spawn will start patrolling to the planet. Of course be careful when doing this as you can free too many ships sometimes... |

They do respond, they are senior citizens, they need some time to respond. Neutering planets does speed up the process :) Attached a screent with 5 examples :) |

Two of the examples are neutral planets, which I HAVE seen them patrol. How long does it usually take for the aforementioned senior citizens to get off their couches, get wrapped up, put on their false teeth and respond? I have yet to see them do so, but I tend to take planets with blitzkrieg tactics: very quickly. |

I am seeing them going onto planets that have 100 or more freed ships. I am not seeing them going onto planets merely because humans have a good military force there, as the release notes states they should. |

Look at the "P3" planet just a bit south-east of my homeplanet, thats a neutral planet, called Dyson :) The planet in the south-west sees gatlings often as well, when they respond to exo-waves passing through. Usually they arrive when the wave left the planet.. Using zombies as reference, as they are easier to control and more abundant. Any new zombies arriving at a planet get a new order, pick up the threath on adjacent planets and move there with friends. Gatlings follow not long after. They 'seem' to follow a similair patern as the zombies, but those can again be controlled and gatlings cant. Because they spread much tinner they might not cross over to an other planet and so not pick up on the threat, which would explain why they often not seem to respond or do so very late. Techsy, I am glad they dont follow just cause I gateraided a planet, but they do follow when you have some activity going .. eventually. Perhaps my expectations are a bit different, or I set things up in a way it more easily trigger stuff to respond but as I see it minor factions works just fine. The only 'issues' I have is where I can expoit them. |

@Red Spot Hmm, maybe I just wasn't being patient enough with them. I'll see if I can see them coming in to help out with a [i]sizable[/i] military effort now that I know I gotta wait for them to start reacting. |
