Summary0000362: Extension of 0000294 - Advisors
DescriptionIn the "polish" category, I suggest an Advisor system similar to Civilization or other Conquer the world / Conquer the Galaxy type games.

Perhaps can do some light analysis of the player economy / recent spending habits and if it notices the player is constantly bouncing at the lower limit (engineers always have red beams and their economy is tanking) will Add a new goal to the summary of a nearby system that has good minerals / crystals.

Optionally add a simple button to bring up a simple "human in military uniform" picture with text across the bottom giving a suggestion to the player ala Civ.

This whole thing should be able to be turned off for the advanced players who don't need the computer telling them what to do ;) Or just be able to disable the advisor window and leave it minimalist with new goals appearing in the goals list --- note I haven't seen how good a job keith did with 0000294 -- I'm just brainstorming on a feature to make the game feel more accessible to newer players.

On that subject, I was thinking it might be interesting to do some sort of 'automatic priority setting' - i often find myself setting priorities based on some simple heuristics.. It would be nice at least to be able to set some basic outlines for an adviser of sorts to auto prioritize, but I honestly cant think of what any economic advisers might do :\

It's something we might consider in the future, but for now it's way out of scope. We're working on various parts of the game to make things more discoverable (the objectives tab is sort of a help-yourself version of what you describe), but there's only so much time between now and 4.0 and our main focus is getting it working, stable, balanced, and fun.
