DescriptionHuman controlled territory can get pretty vast in this game. I would like to see the possibility of shaping our territory so each planet or sector or planets is a little less bland. In my games, there is pretty much front-line planets, and any other planets in back (which usually remain empty, save for deep defense/secondary lines).

Human defensive outposts (think AI guard posts) would be nice...I know my games progress often to a level where my turrets are no match for the AI waves/ships, and often get streamrolled, only to be rebuilt. They could be outposts, with more powerful weaponry than standard turrets. Or they could even auto-spawn small defensive units around them at some interval (say, up to 5 of a certain turret), giving the human player incentive to defend the territory.

I also would like to see better options for mass fleet movement through territory. Again, I feel that as I get large territories, my planets just seem soo bland. Once our territory is sufficiently large, setting something up like "hyperspace lanes", where ships could enter and travel at high velocity to the endpoint. I don't know what limitations would be on the number or pathing of these, but I think this would give vast human territories a much more "organic" feel, as territory would develop further with time, rather than bigger areas of blank planets just used for resources. Space-time manipulators don't provide a large boost, and they affect a whole planet...I think these "lanes" would be nice in that they are a bit more realistic (not that realism is a huge goal), and would be fun to play with, rather than choosing what planets to speed up. Although maybe the space time manipulators do serve this purpose, and I just don't like building them.

Maybe this whole bland thing is just my perspective from galaxy view though. The planets sure do look a like...anyone have ideas for changing this? Territory should develop strategically as well as visually as it grows!

I would like like to say an out post where, they per planet cap about 5 each
about highway what about an turret within range can allow teliportation (i already suggested star ship to do this) so that they arrive .5 sec to wormhole instead of 5-15-30 sec after. meaning travel be only at maxmine 15 sec for 30 planet hop travel. or how able things that allow you to call hyper space gate that allows travel to any planet friendly (similar suggestion as defense utility )
or how about worm hole chock points where u can littualy change the amount ships that can stop large numbers of ships pouring out at once to only 5 sec. something that changes what outside planets do.

Thanks for the teleport/turret idea.

However this is implemented, I think its important its fairly limited, in the same way freeways are. Yes, they have high capacity, and are faster, but building freeways everywhere instead of local roads is not feasible. They are built to connect distant areas and support high traffic. AI War needs freeways!

lol yes, need free ways so like extream speed between un contested planets? eg max speed?
